U.S. Post office and Court House
Today I paid a visit to a historical business that contributed to the growth of the city of Orlando in the 1940s. The U.S. post office and Court house is located on 46 East Robinson Street in Orlando, Fl. What I believe makes this place an interesting find is how it was constructed in a Spanish Colonial Revival style and was able to be maintained for this long. This building, being dedicated on April 14, 1941 is still being used as a post office today. (“ORLANDO POST OFFICE AND FEDERAL COURTHOUSE, 2001” Cook, Thomas, 11/12/2022) Although in person I was able to see the golden mail boxes where they store peoples mail, my camera was not able to get a great view of them. However, it was still a sight to see with a new understanding of some of the history behind the significance of what this meant to the city. Having a post office and court house in a prospering city would create a great sense of pride within American communities because they would understand the importance of their support and where they lived.
As I walked up the steps in the front of the building I thought to myself, how amazing, the amount of different people that have walked up these same steps. So many people that have been here for different reasons, to handle different every day things. I find it fascinating. Please take a look at the photos I have attached and feel free to ask any questions!
I hope you enjoyed the information regarding the U.S. Post office and Court house of East Robinson Street.
All of these photos have been taken by me.
